My name is Bernardo, I was born in Angola in 1968. From an early age I was interested in dance and rhythm.
In my adolescence I had to wear an orthopedic brace to correct a series of deviations in the spine. Classical dance was then an aid to "help" to straighten my back.
There were very few boys who went to the Dance Conservatory at that time. Only those who liked to dance very much went there... such was my case.
I realized then that, sometimes, a difficulty can become an ally that teaches us something.
I entered the Rio de Janeiro Conservatory and, from there, starting to dance professionally was just a leap in that direction.
I was lucky to have danced in some of the most important dance companies in the world such as Ballet Gulbenkian (PT), Cullberg Ballet (Swe) and Grupo Corpo (BR).
Dancing gave me resilience, rigor as well as some injuries.
It was these injuries that led me to discover the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® (a holistic and integrative method that has its principles in Yoga, Tai Chi and Chi Kung).
I was still dancing at the Gulbenkian Ballet when my back pain got worse; it had been years of enduring constant pain. So I decided to seek help and went to the United States for a series of Gyrotonic sessions. My delight in rediscovering a body almost free of physical restrictions after this treatment was such that I made the decision to pursue a possible career in the Gyrotonic Method. Those were days that transformed my body and the perception of the world around me. It's been 20 years and I'm still studying the method. I became a trainer and my thirst for knowledge took me to other areas of somatic education.
Over the years I have been involved in art teaching and therapeutic movement.
I did a Master’s in Dance and Performance at the University of Lisbon. I actively strive to dissolve barriers and connect people with and without disabilities through dance and movement. With that in mind, I took the Danceability® course, a method that promotes inclusion through dance.
My approach to movement is mainly based on the sensorial and energetic aspect. In order to transmit and share my love for movement, I co-created Espaço Equilibrium, a center for somatic techniques and well-being, conveniently located in central Lisbon.
I am committed to bringing the love of moving with intelligence and open heart to more people. In this way we can become more grounded so we can fully express all our human potential.
To describe Momo in one word, it would be - HEART.
Momo's medicine is his ability to bring the energy in a space into deep Heart-connection. He guides with softness and simplicity and creates an environment that feels true and safe for those in it.
He serves his purpose of connecting people to their Heart through Sound Healing, Inner Child Activation, Embodied Heart Connection (a practice he developed which combines Movement, Conscious Intimacy and Breathwork), through creating deep Ecstatic Dance journeys and through Sacred Cacao Ceremonies.
Momo has a profound relationship with the plant medicine of Cacao, and is dedicated to serving Her in his very unique way.
His deep commitment to the Way of Love is expanded by being a loving father to two beautiful Light Beings and he pours out this Love into every thing he does.
Momo has been dedicated fully to offering his medicine since 2017.
He facilitates and plays for thousands of people per year in Portugal as well as abroad.
What I do today is studying how people move and don't move, how they feel about it, and what can I do to improve them physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually towards the general well-being.
I do it because we are the most precious asset that we have.
After 32 years experience with physical work, with Ballroom dance, with classical Ballet and Contemporary Ballet carrier, YOGA is the method that I use with the people that want to embrace this journey of self conscious discovery.
Chef Francisco Basilio
Francisco Basilio was born in Portugal, Lisbon, and started studying psychology after high school, but soon realised that transforming reading nature into food cook was his thing, as it would place him between men and nature, being able to create synergy, balance and art and understanding agriculture, chemistry, and health. Soon he starts to travel around the world learning new cultures, gastronomic landscapes and techniques. At the age of 25 he travelled to India by mistake, or happy incident, and got acquainted with Indian Cuisine and Ayurvedic medicine.
Being able to be our own doctor and achieve that with the power of food was just amazing, in his opinion. And transforming the kitchen in a pharmacy was set as the new goal for the traveller chef. A trip that was supposed to last 1 month and half turned into a long journey of 7 months. He closed his restaurant (Big Blue, Sesimbra Marina, Portugal) and shifted his kitchen pantry.
Mixing together Psychology, Gastronomy and this beautiful ancient holistic medicine seemed to him a perfect triangle to change his path and position towards food. After all, the rhythm, ego war and the fever of Michelin stars were not satisfying him the most, and it made more sense for him to think about healthy or nourishment stars and help people (and himself!) making the right choices and cook them by themselves. This process’s one of the most therapeutic since it brings men to earth, to grow, collect, transform and offer goods and food to others. Cooking our own food grows consciousness and, in the end, we can make healthy, freaking pretty, delicious and Gourmet.
Question is, modern nutrition shows statistically, what’s good and bad. Ok… So, why then does everyone keeps on doing same mistakes?
Using Ayurveda´s holistic matrix and separating primary food from secondary food (being the primary food the relationships we have, the attitude in life, our partners, our sexual partners, our sleep, our spiritual development and activities, physical activities, emotions, basically, and, secondary: food, the food itself, it’s proved that if primary food is on its best, intuition grows, the body intellect gets accurate and smart choices take place, intuitively, don’t giving way for mind cravings and emotional hunger.
Ayurveda helps understanding cosmos and create consciousness for a great marriage between the microcosms (our physical body) and macrocosms (the environment where we live) - leading to health maintenance; for a balanced, peace-full, mindful and nourished life.
Good Food Good Mood
Nowadays, Francisco divides his time in between learning and teaching Ayurveda, community projects with schools and WHO (World Health Organization) developing social reintegration and psycho-physical rehabilitation.
Cooking is an act of Love, bringing together people realities – culture, health and Art/creativity as a form of (self)healing.
